There are many famous people that were educated using the Montessori method including musicians Taylor Swift, Yo-Yo Ma, Sean Combs; Princes William & Harry; the creators of Google (Larry Page & Sergey Brin), Wikipedia (Jimmy Wales) and Amazon (Jeff Bezos); the Sims game creator Will Wright; even Anne Frank! There were even a few famous athletes that were educated in Montessori like NBA star Stephen Curry.
    Did you know that there used to be a Montessori classroom in the basement of the White House? Pretty cool, huh?

  3. A Night of Wonder on is tonight for all of the students who signed up. Remember that we are meeting at Cooper at 6:00. Bring a blanket, lawn chair, etc.

  5. Talent Show- if you are part of the dance group, we have practice TOMORROW at 10:30-11:30.
  6. Did you ever wonder if Montessori students have the same specials? In Montessori, lunch and recess are the same, and we have the same specials as traditional does, like art, music, gym, etc. Homeroom works a little bit differently having fourth, fifth and sixth grade all in one classroom. The only difference is that fourth graders can join choir, so you might see them in choir, but otherwise, our specials are the same as everyone else.
  7. If students choose to take breakfast in the morning, they should either remain in the cafeteria until they are dismissed by the supervisor, or go back outside to their class line after they are finished eating. The only students permitted to go elsewhere in the building are those with a pass.
  8. Reminder that Boys Basketball starts on Monday March 5th. Meet in the GYM after school until 4:30pm.

  3. CAREER IDEA! Cement Masons remove areas of damaged concrete and repair the area with new concrete. They also monitor how wind and temperature affect the drying of cement. Cement Masons signal the truck drivers to get in the correct position to pour the concrete.

  8. Recess Reminder - It's important that we keep our hands, feet, and bodies to ourselves. This includes not playing football, soccer, or any other sports too rough. We need to make sure that we are playing safely so that no one gets hurt or gets in trouble for rough play.
  9. Outdoor Skills Club - Today's outing is canceled due to the snow on the ground and the below average temperatures. We will reschedule our spring clean up in the up coming weeks. We will be tapping the sugar maple tree in front of the school during a homeroom period next week as the weather warms. Please make sure you communicate the cancelation to your parents.

  7. 5th graders, are you interested in Safety Patrol? Applications are now being accepted for 5th grade training. You will train this year and then be on the Safety Patrol team for 6th grade. Applications are available in the office. All applications need to be in by March 23.
  8. Students- If you are in a club it is your responsibility to let an adult know PRIOR to the day of the meeting. You cannot come to the office during class time to ‘remind’ your parents of the club as they should know the day before. The only way you should call on the day of is if the club is unexpectedly canceled.
  9. Please congratulate our Academic Bowl 6th graders in their Second Place Finish on Friday! It a fantastic team effort. Participants were Ryan D., Evan D., Lee G., Maddie T. and Adriadna G. The sixth graders came away with two first place and two second place awards individually. Way to go team!!

  7. Outdoor Skills Club - Students interested in learning about how maple syrup is made need to stop and pick up a permission slip TODAY, and you need to return it TOMORROW. We will be going to the Koldeway Farm after school on Friday, to see the maple syrup collection and evaporation process. Students will even get to taste some freshly made syrup. Mr. Tonn will be doing a taping demonstration during homeroom today. So club members who do not have other obligations are welcomed to come to the art room at 2:35. Please bring your coat we will be headed out side to tap the sugar maple in the front yard.
